When the Plan Falls Apart: Trusting the Higher One
Apr 16, 2025
To say I’ve been feeling off is an understatement.
The first trimester of my pregnancy cracked me open in ways I didn’t expect. On January 1st, I woke up ready to chase down my carefully crafted plans. I had just come off a high from hosting my first international YTT, feeling aligned, inspired, and ready to expand. But the Universe had other ideas.
That very first day of the year?
Injured.
Followed by weeks of death-flu-turned-pneumonia.
Followed by the deep exhaustion of growing a tiny human who, apparently, thinks my energy is her personal buffet.
And in the middle of it all, my nervous system—shot. My mind—spiraling. My identity—shifting.
The version of me I worked so hard to build over the past decade started dissolving right in front of me.
I didn’t want to surrender.
I wanted to stick to the plan.
The plan made me feel safe. The plan made me feel worthy. The plan made me feel in control.
But this season of life?
It has no space for control. Only faith.
And the only thing I kept hearing over and over again was:
Sound.
Sound. Sound. Sound.
Not yoga (which I thought was the path).
Not another strategy.
Not more content, more hustle, more offerings.
Sound.
Because sound doesn’t demand anything from me.
It just asks me to show up.
To be with what is. To let the vibration hold me when I can’t hold myself.
This—this is what surrender looks like.
It’s not glamorous. It’s gritty. It’s letting go of the plan so you can finally receive the one that’s been waiting for you all along.
And I know I’m not the only one here.
So if you're in that space too—where the path ahead is murky, the plan you held tightly is slipping through your fingers, and your body is begging you to slow down—this blog is for you.
✨ 5 Ways to Trust Your Gut + Surrender to the Higher Plan
1. Acknowledge Where You’re Forcing
Take a moment to ask yourself: Where am I pushing when I know I need to pause?
We often resist what we know deep down because surrender feels like weakness. But forcing is the ultimate form of fear.
Surrender is strength.
Journal Prompt:
What am I clinging to that is no longer aligned? What would it feel like to let go?
2. Tune Inward Daily
Your gut is wise. Your body is talking to you all the time. But if you're constantly in motion, you’ll miss it.
Start each morning with a few deep breaths. Place one hand on your heart, one on your belly, and just listen.
Try This:

3. Let Your Body Lead
I used to push through everything. Pain, illness, exhaustion, grief. Now?
I let my body guide my decisions. If it says rest, I rest. If it says move, I move gently.
Your body holds ancient wisdom. Trust it more than the pressure of your to-do list.
Journal Prompt:
What has my body been trying to tell me that I’ve been ignoring?
4. Say No to the “Plan,” Yes to the Alignment
I had a PLAN. And it was good. But it wasn’t divine.
The higher plan? It’s scarier because you can’t see it all. But it will never lead you astray.
Start saying “yes” to the quiet inner nudges, even if they don’t make sense yet.
Action Step:
Write down one thing you feel pulled to do—but have been afraid to. Then take one tiny step toward it.
5. Let Community Catch You
You don’t have to walk this alone. Whether it's your family, your yoga family, or a circle of soul sisters—let them hold you.
Inside TEW trainings, the thing that’s mentioned the most?
The community.
One of my 1:1 clients recently told me that the YTT cohort literally saved her.
“It was my lifeline,” she said.
That’s why I keep going—even when I feel like I’m talking to the void.
Because this work is bigger than me. And it’s changing lives.
💛 Final Thoughts
If you’re in a season where everything feels like it’s crumbling—know this:
You’re not broken.
You’re not behind.
You’re just becoming.
This isn’t the end. This is the becoming of you.
Trust the whispers. Trust the rest. Trust the mess.
The higher plan is already unfolding.
With so much love,
Megan
